We are learning about the conic section. When we cut a cone, we will obtain a different shape depending on the place and angle we cut through the cone. There are 4 main type of shape such as parabola, hyperbola, ellipse, and circle. We learn the standard formula for each of the shape and the general formula which can be use with all of the shape. In the general formula, there are 5 main variable such as A, C, D, E, and F. By looking at the value of these variables, we will be able to identify the shape of the graph for the equation. In this desmos project, We use all of the 4 shapes to create an image of the character we choose. We limit the domain so that only some part of the graph is visible. We also use variable as a domain and value in some graph. The value of the variable will change through time by using the slider function of the desmos. Hence, The line will we able to move and become animated. This project was contributed to the ESLOs: leader for the future, innovative thinkers, and strategic learner. We learn about the general formula from desmos by putting random number into it and observe the pattern and the shape that appear in the screen. Since this is a group work and it need a lot of effort, we should divided our work in an effective way and should be able to manage our time wisely. My work is using the inequality to color the image. I color all of it and it require me to be creative of how I will connect each part of the graph so that there will least amount of blank space.
