Reformation : The 95 Theses

This work is from the first semester of world history class, in Grade 11. We are studying the protestant reformation. I decide to make a model which depict the 95 theses. The 95 Theses is a list of reason posted by Martin Luther concerning why indulgences are bad, a statement that oppose the Catholic Church at that time. This model was mainly made out of Bagasse papers and Styrofoam. I have a Styrofoam inside just to shape out the structure of the building and also strengthen the building, acting as the framework. Around it, there are a priest selling indulgences to a normal people in a high price and Martin Luther posting the 95 Theses in front of the church castle.

Great Depression: Dust Bowl and Soup Kitchen

The Great Depression occur after the end of World War I. It is a situation which the United States face an economic crash. People, who is enjoying their prosperous life, suddenly lose everything due to this event. The farmer, struggling to sell their crop to break-even with their debt, dig up all the plants in their land. This led to nothing holding the soil and when the wind blows, it gathers all the dust and create the Dust Bowl. People escape from the farmland to the nearby city. Unfortunately, the city is also facing the Great depression which make the farmers, even though were allowed to live in the city, are not very welcomed by the townspeople. The city also has a soup kitchen. Soup kitchen was organized by the townspeople itself, giving out food to people who was in need.
