Liver Enzyme Lab
In this lab, we are testing whether the enzyme catalase work best in which condition. We add hydrogen peroxide to the liver which contain catalase and look at the rate of the bubble and the time it take until it stop producing any bubble. There are 5 conditions that we are testing including the normal liver, heated liver, cold liver, acidified liver, and basified liver. The thing I like in this work is the result very surprise me, I think that the heated one will be the best but is completely opposite. The thing I think is hard in this project is measuring the rate of the bubble, it hard to compare in some of the livers, and the time taken because after a period of time the bubble seem to stop but the truth is that it still producing a small bubbles.
ESLOs:
- Innovative Thinkers - analyze whether which condition is the best for the enzyme by looking at the rate of bubbles and the time taken to complete the reaction
- Strategic Learners - understand how each factor affect the rate of the enzymes
